Orange Snail Brewers
If you’re looking for freshly brewed beer in Milton, it doesn’t get much more local than Orange Snail Brewers. Tucked away along an industrial strip less than 10-minutes from Connectt, this independent brewery is owned by Milton natives Damion Orsi and Kevin Greer, who are former home-brewing buddies turned business partners. The focus here is on high quality, small-batch brewing. The lineup includes three signature flagship beers – a hoppy 16 Jasper IPA, a full-bodied Iron Pig pale ale and the Rattle ‘n’ Nemo Irish red – along with a rotating selection of seasonal brews like the summery Escarpment Wheat beer with strong citrus notes and the autumnal Hockey Mask Pumpkin Ale brewed with fresh pumpkins from nearby Milton farms. Visit the on-site tasting room to sample their signature suds by the pint or in a tasting flight.
The Rad Brothers
Part sports bar, part taproom, The Rad Brothers is just a five-minute walk from the future site of Connectt, making it an ideal local watering hole for Milton residents. The spacious dining area and bar is great for large groups and there’s plenty of entertainment on offer throughout the week with trivia nights, live music and major league sports action airing on the big-screens. You’ll find international brews on tap as well as a solid selection of draught beers from Ontario breweries. Local favourites include Creemore Springs’ signature lager, 3Speed Lager from Toronto’s Amsterdam Brewery, and amber ale from Milton’s own Orange Snail Brewers.
EddieO’s Pourhouse & Kitchen
A true neighbourhood favourite in the heart of Downtown Milton, EddioeO’s Pourhouse & Kitchen boasts an impressive list of draft beers on tap, a contemporary menu of upscale comfort foods, and a warm and lively atmosphere. Nickel Brook Brewery
Head south towards the lake to discover all-natural craft beers at this longstanding brewery in nearby Burlington. Founded back in 2005, Nickel Brook Brewing Co. has been one of the key players in the emerging craft beer scene in Ontario and is known for its three award-winning core flagship beers – Cause & Effect Blonde, Naughty Neighbour APA and Head Stock IPA – and limited-edition brews. Taking a scientific approach to the brewing process, the artisanal brewers at Nickel Brook are constantly experimenting with new styles and original small-batch flavours – think funky sours, one-off seasonal specialties and unique collaborations. The recently renovated bottle shop and taproom offers more than 20 beers on tap (available in flights, full pours and growler fills) alongside a tasty selection of charcuterie, cheese and elevated bar snacks. Tours of the brewery are offered on Friday, Saturday and Sunday by appointment for those who want to get a behind-the-scenes look at the brewing process.
Furnace Room Brewing
Furnace Room Brewery was the first craft brewery to set up shop in the neighbouring community of Georgetown and has already earned several industry awards in its short run. You’ll find four signature brews on tap here, each with its own quirky name and backstory: a smooth, malty ‘Wright House’ red ale, dry and flavourful ‘Chicken Man’ pale ale, ‘Dynamo’ cream lager, and a crispy and refreshing ‘Bearmore’ Kolsch style ale. The spacious, family-friendly tasting room has a laid-back vibe with long communal tables indoors and picnic tables on the outdoor patio in the warmer months. Beers are available by the can or you can sample all four in a tasting flight and pair with a crowd-pleasing menu of pub fare like poutine, wings, pizzas and meaty sandwiches.
